birthday boy. . .

christian james, how can you be five years old?  i remember so vividly your delivery.  it seems like only yesterday.  i can also remember the late nights we spent in the living room snuggling.  i knew you were my last baby, and i would sit there in the dark just taking you in, and wishing that i could keep you that small for just a little longer.

but. . . here you are. . .

it never fails. . .

that when rick is out of town on business, that i get sick.  today was no exception.  before he left, we had a nice lunch out with the kids.  this evening, my stomach was not feeling so well.  it never fails. 

i told the boys that i wasn't feeling well.  christian was sympathetic.  he checked on me every few minutes after i told him.  that little one has such a tender heart.  it never fails. 

before bed tonight, christian gave me a little advice that went something like this. . .

C:  mom, you know what i do when i don't feel good??
M: no babe, what do you do??
C:  i just sing to Jesus.  He always makes me feel better. you should try it tonight.
